NASCAR Hall of Fame
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is gearing up for its first major overhaul since opening 15 years ago, with plans to transform vacant television production space and expand areas for students and private events.
The City of Charlotte is undertaking a modernization and reconfiguration of the NASCAR Hall of Fame facility. The work includes relocating and expanding the gift shop and café, converting existing areas into new flexible event and education spaces, upgrading mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems (including enhanced security screening), and improving overall visitor circulation and infrastructure. A portion of the site will be reprogrammed to better serve school groups, community events, and exhibitions, while providing an upgraded guest experience.
The facility is fully operational and publicly owned, so the work must be phased to maintain access, protect existing exhibits, and comply with future museum-use standards. This is intended to be the most significant renovation since the facility opened.
